The mechanics enforce that by punishing you for being destructive or indiscrete - at the end of the day we abstract away the "murder" and treat it as a complicated and dynamic puzzle box, by design, because the goal is not to get off on killing, but to navigate the semi-random obstacles cleanly. ![]() Hitman is focused on the fantasy of being a stone cold secret agent, infiltrating invisibly and silently eliminating the world's most protected evildoers. A game isn't a "killing simulator" any time progress is made via mortal conflict, that's like a circa 2000 take on violent games.
